The GSI Floating House served as a strategic venue for the Anna Lindh Foundation's Mobility for Partnership Project. This initiative, led by Nicholas Guy Rees, Head of Training and Development at Resilient Communities (RC), a prominent Moroccan NGO, aimed to bolster professional development opportunities for young individuals.

Mr. Rees, a recognized authority in education and community development, facilitated a series of workshops and networking sessions during his visit to Tarifa. The core objective was to establish collaborative partnerships between GSI, the local association Strait Up, and Resilient Communities. This collaboration focused on empowering youth in the Strait of Gibraltar region through structured internship and volunteer programs.

Leveraging his extensive experience, which includes educational consultancy work in Tangier, Morocco, and his service with the U.S. Peace Corps in Moroccan regions, Mr. Rees employed a comprehensive capacity-building approach. His contributions encompassed the design of internship programs, the customization of professional development programs for individual interns, and the fostering of connections with local organizations. These connections aim to establish a foundation for future collaborative projects geared towards youth empowerment.

The project extended beyond purely professional pursuits, incorporating cultural exchange elements through music, dance, and culinary experiences. These activities served to promote intercultural dialogue and align with the sustainable development goals.
